Star Status

Everybody wants to be a star

But where does one start?

Well first of all, in my eyes well deserve and can shine

But when I say star, do we have the same thing in mind?

I wonder…

But know that most people’s thought process isn’t like mine

Some say I’m higher, and some say I’m deep

So I’ll just give you a shovel and a ladder to either dig or climb

Maybe you can reach, to where you think I might be

But let’s get back on track…

Start status

Now how should I attack this?

You been told what a star is by the American popular habit

Most people call it television

Feeding gossip, lies, death, and whatever to anybody that will listen

And if you can’t watch, the magazines grab your mind so you believe everything that’s written

And these people have told you what a star is

And if you aint on the TV or a magazine, well you aint it

If you aint throwing money around they said, you aint rich

If you aint got the car or the bling then you aint worth shit

Hmmm…

The thing I realize is that these “stars” only have shine on the outside

Are they still a start without all the jewelry, clothes, and ride?

I’m not sure

But I never heard of a star buying their shine before

I have yet to have my eyes look at the sky at night and see a star put something on to shine

But maybe I just missed it right?

Well until my eyes find the right time

I will keep a stubborn mind that real shine comes from the inside

True shine comes from the heart

True shine bring light to a world that’s so dark

Shine is people spreading positivity to raise others higher

Shine is kids with lost dreams being reunited with ideas that inspire

Even bigger dreams than before

Shine is taking babies off the streets, giving them a home that’s secure

Showing the ones with lost hope there is something to live for

We caught up in the world we feel there’s no time

And in the midst of it all, we have lost our shine

We were made in God’s image and that’s how we supposed to live

You ever wonder why it feels so good when you give?

That when we help others things just feel right

Maybe when we do that, it turns on the light

But if you’re in the dark how you supposed to see this insight?

Well if it doesn’t reach your heart, keep it in ya mind

And hopefully it will seep down over some time

But anyways I leave you with this last line

Quit the selfishness we all star status… turn up your shine

Lone Warrior

Battle gear always on
He has to stay strong
Allies with many armies but still travels alone
Has a house that he owns, but still searches for a home
Counts the soldiers he can count on and it totals only one
…
But always quick to give a helping hand
Can’t stand to see his allies down
No burden too heavy, he’ll keep them all off the ground
Never complains, in fact he makes no sounds
Only time he smiles is when his love comes around
She is the only reason he takes off his helmet
Which he wears as a crown
And this is not the life he wants to live
But its what been given
His constant battle is for his book of life
Determined to change what’s written
A mission
To write in all the things that are missing
Reasons for living…
Though every day he prays, humbly gracious, full of thanksgiving
He knows every breath is a gift
And he uses his gifts to strengthen and uplift
While negative weakness he cuts down and dismiss
Reshaping his reality no star for a damn wish
Sometimes the only light he can even see is his
…
Though he’s been battling so long, still doesn’t always fight right
Looks at his reflection in his sword, asks the Lord for insight
Sometimes forgets his strength is gone, he’s been using God’s might
Sheds a tear, but no fear, re-encouraged thing will be alright
And this is so real, far from a fairy tale
A lone warrior seeing heaven in the midst of this hell

Cosmosations

So I took a walk out the atmosphere

Was looking at the moon, and found a path to take me there

Saw the moon at the end of his shift

He was going down and asked if I needed a lift

But I requested he stop to just talk and sit

He obliged

I asked “what’s it like watching our lives?”

Then I saw a bit of sadness come into his eyes

He said “I see so much destruction”

“I know life is short but why is everybody rushing?”

“So many blinded by the drinking and drugging”

“All the greed and the lusting”

“It’s no wonder when people look up in their eyes I see no trust in em”

“But I try to forget all this when I leave”

“They think nobody watches at night”

“…but I see man… I see”

“Only at an eclipse I get a second of peace”

Then he got up

No more could he talk

Gave me a lot to think about

So I continued to walk

Then along came the sun ready to start the day

And I thought good ole sunshine must have something positive to say

Because I always feel better after I catch a few rays

So I smile and asked how he was

But simply said “…Ok”

“OK??”

Well I expected more

He replied “if you see what I see you would be lucky to have more in store”

“Every day I walk across the sky”

“I am strong and shine when you see me but when the clouds come I cry”

“So much suffering and can’t understand why”

“People should be trying to live but most just waiting to die”

“And how come nobody wants to help each other?”

“Seems they rather give a bullet than a dollar to their brother”

“So many people trying to survive”

“I try to give them examples increase their hope for their lives”

“Don’t they see the vines climbing high in jungles of concrete?”

“Why don’t look and get inspired and say that can be me?”

“They can be the vine climbing”

“They can be the flower getting all that they desire”

“I try to help them see it doesn’t matter where they're from”

“They can do anything if they truly want”

“God created us all, and made us all to overcome”

“I continue to shine my light…but they’re still in the dark”

“Speaking of dark, we spoke all day”

“I am sorry man but I must be on my way”

I thanked the sun for everything he had say

I started walking home

Was passing by some stars

I was deep in thought

But they called me from afar

They asked me “why do people have the same names as ours”

I said “what you mean”

They said “why do you call people stars?”

“They done shine and most of their lives barely have light”

I admitted “maybe some of them are not that bright”

“But people look up to them like they look up to you right?”

“You’re the ones they wish upon late in the night”

They interrupted me said “we see what’s going on”

“You people associate stars with wealth, but that’s all wrong”

“There are people on the earth that shine like we do”

“but most of you can’t see them shine can you?”

“these people look at the world and see how they can help”

“They ain’t so focused on themselves, but rather on everyone else”

“They inspire and uplift the spirits of everybody around”

“using love and kind gestures to lift hearts off the ground”

“See these are the people you should call stars”

“They are the reasons we can shine as bright as we are”

“Wow…” that really had me thinking

Am I lifted up the world on the ship sinking?

Well I know to call people stars for the right reasons

I’ll make sure I climb higher with more dedication

Learned so much from the cosmos…great conversations

Who am I?

I am loyalty, respect, strength, and trust

I am an example of love which was once just lust

I am a result of so much support that it’s a must

That even when I walk alone I refer to me as us

I am a work of art, but yet and artist of creativity

I am the boss, the master, the creator of my own destiny

I am the joy that I feel when I see a smile on my niece

I am the nervousness I feel when I talk to the girl of my dreams

I am the result my past and product of my future

I am experience in life to help be the young one’s tutor

I am the cube that get chipped away til it forms a sphere

I am the faith that one day I will be smoother than air

I am the light that helps u find the way from the dark

I am what u shine the light upon when I’ve lost my spark

I am my own motivator, and my own restriction

I am my on planner, and distracter of my own predictions

I am the unstoppable, and maker of my limitations

I am all together , yet I represent separation

I am a loose cannon, but so under control

I am the one to take silver if you really want the gold

I am the nonchalant, mellow mood who never seems to care

But I am the first one that if u need, I will be there

I am the one that reminds u that ur special at times

I am the one that also annoys til u go out of ur mind

I am the insanity that makes me seem that much more sane

I am the one u want around, but scared to call my name

I am the maker of anger when I don’t do things right

I am the effort of my focus to try to make things right

I am the all the imperfections that seem to make me

As special and unique as I could ever be

So I just wanna say thank you for friends and family

For understanding I aint perfect, all I am is just me
